IELTS is a test to know the English language proficiency of the candidate and so practicing can only help one to score good bands in the IELTS. There is no secret behind improving your English instead you need to work hard every single day to improve your English.

How to score good bands in IELTS? This is an obvious question in everyone’s mind ahead of appearing for the IETLS exam no matter it is for the academic or general purpose. IELTS is a test to know the English language proficiency of the candidate and so practicing can only help one to score good bands in the IELTS.

Eventhough you are very fluent in English but first you need to understand the format of the IELTS test and then start preparing for it. There is no secret behind improving your English instead you need to work hard every single day to improve yourEnglish. You need to work on your weaknesses and polish your strengths. In the beginning, you are bound to make silly mistakes but with time and again practices you will be correcting your mistakes and will make sure that you do not repeat it. Apart from getting used to completing each module in the specified time, you should be performing well in each module.

1.   For the reading section, you should read as much as you can. It can be either newspaper, books, anything which improves your vocabulary, grammar, learn new words and also improve your reading style.
2.   For the listening section, practice by listening to YouTube videos, watching English movies, listening to BBC news etc. By listening to such videos, you will get adjusted to the English accent which you will be hearing during the IELTS test as well.
3.   For the writing section, you should read the question first, plan the answer and then start writing. Do not write the answer haphazardly and without any time management. In the essay, make sure that you write enough words i.e. atleast 250 words and 150 words. Whenever you practice, make sure you use the write spellings, grammar, vocabulary etc.
4.  For the speaking section, you need to practice by watching the videos wherein you can learn about the various pronunciations and how to maintain the fluency while speaking to the examiner with very less gap.

Basically, IELTS is conducted to test whether the candidate is capable enough to communicate with the English speakers when he/she will be moving to the English speaking country.
